Pinnacle Horehise
Pinnacle is a new development in the horsefront leather line from Horween Leather Company. This leather is designed with a strong and durable base tannage, resulting in a final product that is buttery soft and rich in feel. Pinnacle is combination tanned, using chrome tanning with a vegetable re-tannage. New formulations for this product include a proprietary blend of oils being introduced during the tanning process which provide a rich nourishment of the fibers, giving the leather its strength, durability, and soft feel. The leather is then finished with a blend of waxes and aniline dyes, which highlight the unique grain of the horsehide.
Double Horse Fronts: When compared to Steer, Horse hides have a different fiber structure and are naturally thinner which allows Horween Leather Company to produce a lightweight finished leather. The grain of the horse hides will show a coarser, more pronounced grain structure and are more abrasion resistant. Due to the characteristics of the horsehide, the finished leather will display more variation and natural markings as compared to our Bovine leathers. The Double Horse Front (DHF) is one among three cuts of a horsehide — this particular selection of the leather is the whole front portion of the hide, with the Butt being cropped off for the Cordovan and Horsehide strip.
Size Guide
See Size Guide selector above details.
To find your size, place a jacket that you love flat on the floor or table and measure the same points across. The most important measurement will be the chest and shoulder to ensure proper fit. Please feel free to email us your measurements if you need help choosing a size afterwards.
Fit Notes
The Amos is a semi-full-cut coat with broad, comfortable shoulders and a subtle taper through the back for a lightly tailored look. The front offers easy room without feeling oversized.
Its mid-length design provides enough coverage to keep you warm in a cold breeze, while staying short enough to make it an easy, everyday grab-and-go layer.

Why horsehide?
Benefits of Horsehide vs. Bovine Leather
1. Naturally Denser, More Durable Fiber Structure
Horsehide fibers are tighter and denser than cowhide, especially in the “shell” and rump areas. This makes horsehide more abrasion-resistant and long-lasting, meaning it can take harder use without showing wear.
2. Superior Weather Resistance
Because of that density, horsehide repels wind and water better than bovine leathers. It forms a tougher exterior surface, which can feel almost armor-like at first but softens beautifully over time.
3. Richer, More Dramatic Patina
Horsehide tends to develop a more pronounced patina—color depth, highs/lows, and shine—especially compared to standard cowhide. With wear, it gains character quickly and visibly.
4. Unique Grain and Surface Character
Horsehide often shows tighter, more varied grain patterns, giving it a distinctive look that many enthusiasts consider more premium or “heritage” feeling than cowhide.
